Ford Duratec Remote Oil Filter Plate
Designed to optimise oil flow and reduce unnecessary restriction.
The factory oil system was not designed around a competition oil circuit.
The factory oil-filter arrangement was designed around the requirements and packaging constraints of the original road car. For a performance or competition application, restrictions and changes in flow area through the oil circuit can become increasingly important.
A remote oil system gives greater freedom over filter and cooler positioning, but the oil path and connection sizing remain critical to maintaining effective flow through the system.
The MODESTY plate has been developed around this principle, with the primary oil connections and internal passages designed to provide an efficient route into the remote oil circuit.
A take-off plate developed with flow and pressure in mind.
Oil flow and pressure were key considerations in the development of the MODESTY Duratec Remote Oil Filter Plate. The internal oil paths and primary connections have been designed to reduce unnecessary restrictions and provide a clean transition into the remote oil circuit.
The result is a plate focused on effective oil-system performance, while also incorporating the flexibility needed for remote filtration, external cooling and integrated pressure and temperature monitoring.
Designed around oil flow
Oil pressure & temperature monitoring
Oil pressure and temperature monitoring are integrated directly into the plate, providing dedicated sensor positions without the need for additional T-pieces within the oil circuit.
The two central M10 x 1 ports are positioned for oil pressure monitoring and can accommodate an oil pressure sensor, gauge or the original equipment oil pressure switch.
The upper M10 x 1 port is positioned within the oil flow path and is intended for an oil temperature sensor, allowing temperature measurement to be taken directly from the flowing engine oil.
ISO 6149 high-pressure fluid connection
The two primary oil connections use M22 x 1.5 ISO 6149 port geometry, providing a dedicated O-ring sealing interface designed for demanding fluid-system applications.
The M22 x 1.5 primary connections form part of the wider focus on maintaining an effective oil path through the take-off plate, providing a generous connection into the remote oil circuit.
ISO 6149 is a standardised metric port design incorporating controlled port and sealing geometry. The primary seal is formed by an O-ring at the machined port interface rather than relying on the M22 thread itself to provide the fluid seal.
Built around AN-10
Matching MODESTY M22 x 1.5 ISO 6149 to AN-10 / JIC-10 oil fittings are available for the primary oil ports.
The fittings utilise the plate’s ISO 6149 O-ring sealing interface, providing a purpose-designed transition from the take-off plate to AN-10 oil lines.
Together, the plate and matching fittings provide a clean, direct transition into AN-10 plumbing while supporting the wider design objective of minimising unnecessary restriction through the oil system.
Built for motorsport & performance
In a competition or high-performance oil system, maintaining effective oil flow is only part of the challenge. The system also needs to fit around the vehicle. Relocating the oil filter provides greater flexibility when packaging a competition vehicle or carrying out an engine conversion, particularly where chassis, exhaust or other components restrict access around the factory filter location.
